#70 – Baby, It’s Cold Outside

At times, you may be carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders. There's no need to also add the weight of a heavy coat or jacket.

Unless Prince Charming is around to assist you with putting it on or taking it off, you'll want to consider the weight when choosing a new coat or jacket. Be kind to your shoulders, elbows and hands.

Fortunately, there's now a wide selection of stylish offerings available, so finding something lightweight shouldn't weigh heavily on you.

Puffer jackets are a great cold weather option and they are now styled not to make you look like their namesake - puffy.

In my closet, you'll find an eclectic assortment of all-weather coats and jackets - Gore-Tex®, cashmere blends, wool, non-puffy puffer jacket and arctic fleece.

Baby, I'm warm inside!

  1. Great suggestions regarding the weight and thickness of one’s coat…I would add to the list to also pay attention to the type of closure…whether it’s buttons or zippers and whether they are truly easy and comfortable to use.

I once made the mistake of buying this lovely black wool coat that had the most annoying buttons that I thought wouldn’t be a big deal…well, I was wrong because the difficult to close (or snap) buttons meant that I didn’t want to wear the coat because it would be a pain in the neck (literally, no pun intended) to open and close the collar area going in and out of places…(and you want to be opening this area the most when you are feeling hot or cold).
