F – Feelings

Day 8

"I can't help it, but that's how I feel."

Here's the interesting thing about feelings. They can change. That is why they are an integral part of the stress undressing equation.

A good example of this is to recall how you've felt about a movie, a meal or your work on a bad day. Now, contrast this with how you felt about the same thing on a good day. Did you discover a difference? In 2008, I wrote about something similar on Subjective Objective. I'd love to hear your answer to the question I posed on that post.

Your feelings affect your perception, which is why people who have experienced the same event can have such a broad range of feelings.

When you practice stress techniques, by consciously applying positive heartfelt feelings such as compassion, gratitude or love, you can have an influence on how you feel. How you feel influences how you feel, if that makes sense.

When you soak in negative emotions, you may come out looking like a prune. Activate those positive emotions and feel better more regularly, not just on a blue moon.

You are breathing, thinking and feeling, anyway. Why not make it count?
