Power up your household scrubbing chores when you have rheumatoid arthritis (RA) in order to make cleaning easier. With RA, the joints in your hands are often impacted, making it difficult to do things that most people take for granted.That's when power scrubbing tools come to the rescue.

Years ago, I bought the Black and Decker Scumbuster Cordless Scrubber. It's discontinued, but you can find it on Amazon and eBay. It makes your scrubbing/polishing jobs a little easier. Included are a number of different attachments, which enable you to clean a variety of surfaces.

It's great for cleaning the tiled surfaces in the shower stall. Since I "skate clean" my floors, I use the scrubber to get at the edges. I ordered extra pads (fine, medium and coarse grade) that can be used on a variety of surfaces.

My one wish is that it would oscillate in both a clockwise and counter-clockwise direction.

Other Options

On the Black and Decker site, I came across the Scumbuster® Pro Rechargeable Powered Scrubber with Charging Stand. If you're cleaning flat surfaces, I think this is a more manageable tool than the Scumbuster Cordless Scrubber, especially if you have RA hands. The reason is physics-related. The further away from the body, the longer the lever, the more strain/weight on your joints.

If you google power scrubbing tools, you'll find a vast array of options that can help you take care of those household jobs. There are even options that attach to your existing power pools. Wouldn't Tim the Tool Man Taylor like those! However, since you are still using your hands, you want to consider the weight of those tools.
