#555 – Another Way to Wrap Your Gifts

On One of My Favourite Things, I wrote how gift bags are a blessing to people who have mobility issues.

If you've run out of gift bags (and you don't have the energy to go to the store), you might just have a solution in your storage cupboards.

Why not use those empty tins that contained last year's goodies - cookies, chocolate, coffee, cocoa...? Tie it up with a coordinating ribbon, add a gift tag and you're done! The best part is that you'll keep them guessing until they open the gift.

It's recycling at it's finest.

Maybe you can even make a game of it, similar to what a friend does with a birthday card. Each year, she and her cousin exchange the same birthday card, but add in a new message. At this point, the card is packing weight because they've resorted to using post-it notes. They've been doing this for decades, so the card is completely filled with writing. When they receive the card, they get a kick out of reading the messages from years gone by.
