#390 – Ice SpOt

auntie stress Ice SpOt

A friend of my sister's passed The Ice SpOt on to her. In turn, she handed it off to me, thinking that it would be helpful for when my thermostat kicks in or when my joints need cooling.

As it didn't come with packaging, I decided to do a Google search, just in case some of you were interested in this gadget. Well, surprisingly, this product is marketed for something different altogether! The intention is neither turn to down the heat in the body nor that in the joints. Instead, it's meant to freeze those wrinkles as you run the stainless steel disc, which cools when you turn it on, over your wrinkles. I guess it's kind of like Botox but using cryogenics instead. You can check it out here.

Well, I do love multi-purpose tools, although I can't speak to the efficacy of the third option. But, maybe I should get started on that, tout de suite.

What I can say, though, is that when I've been too tired or lazy to get up and dig out the ice-pack and my pillow-case for it, I reach into the drawer and turn on the Ice Spot. It does a passable job at cooling things down.

I haven't gone anywhere with it yet, but it might be a good thing to take when you don't have access to ice.

What do you think?

  1. How funny that an item made for supposedly “freezing” away wrinkles is great for cooling down one’s body temperature or one’s aching bones – I love it 🙂 I agree with you that it is highly unlikely that this contraption works on removing wrinkles. I’m just wondering how expensive is this cooling gadget… Is it reasonably priced as an alternative to an icepack? Also, how does it work? Is there a battery in there? Or is it electrically charged?

  2. Hi Phyllis,
I think you need to speak with your doctor about whether methotrexate is right for you. It’s your journey, so gather all the information and make a decision that fits your life.
