#336 – Medical Office

My rheumatologist's office is set up to make things easier for his patients. The door handle has been replaced with a levered one. A cushion raises the height of the seat, making it easier to get up.

At a follow-up appointment with my surgeon at the Vancouver General Hospital, I was pleased to note (and use) the higher chairs in the waiting area. However, the x-ray department, where most of the patients are sent before seeing the surgeon, did not have any higher chairs available.

Nor do many of the other departments or medical offices I've visited.

I hereby propose a motion that all medical offices provide seating of varying heights. Who wants to second it?
