#295 – Giveaway: Clean House, Happy Heart

auntie stress clean house

Through one of those daily deal sites, I purchased a voucher for house-cleaning. I opted for one hour of cleaning by three women, as it was the most expedient service.

I was impressed! They were efficient, friendly, punctual and thorough. The tag line for Capital House Cleaning is "We don't cut corners, we clean them."

Cleaning corners, baseboards and other hard-to-do surfaces such as mirrors presents a challenge for anyone with joint and mobility issues.

In a follow-up call, owner Ed Klemmer informed me that there are many cleaning options available, from weekly all the way up to 'once in awhile'.

I definitely plan on using Capital House Cleaning when I have my surgery, if not before.

Giveaway!

The good news is that you don't have to wait for surgery. Ed has generously agreed to help me put together a giveaway! The lucky winner, whose name will be drawn from a hat, will choose either:

  • one hour of cleaning with three cleaners
  • OR one and a half hours with two cleaners

To enter this giveaway, please leave a comment telling us how you feel when your home is sparkly clean.

  1. I’m entering this contest because I would love to gift this to my girlfriend who lives in Surrey! Thanks!

  2. I would love to win a free house cleaning service, there are so many other fun things to do in life than clean house but nothing makes be feel better when it’s all dusted, vacuumed, shiny windows and floors!!! Makes me want ‘order in’ dinner, light a few candles, have a glass of wine, sit back and ENJOY. Think I might give them a try one of these days if I don’t win, so many cleaning companies won’t do the just occasional cleaning and that’s all I need. What fun it would be to come home after a busy week at work and the house has all been taken care of :))))

  3. I live in Hong Kong and unfortunately will not be entering this competition, but I did want to mention that I have a domestic helper in Hong Kong. She does everything for me and my family: cleaning, cooking, washing, ironing. She has totally changed my world of pain. We all need a domestic helper. 🙂

  4. Hi! I can’t enter your give-away as I live near Annapolis, Md., but just wanted to take a moment to acknowledge you for a truly inspired prize & for your obviously generous heart! I live with four autoimmune diseases & one of the most challenging sources of self-criticism & disappointment in daily life for me has been the sure, steady drip, drip, drip of household cleaning that I can either no longer do at all or cannot do enough to possibly “keep up”. I think giving someone who lives with debilitating chronic illness the gift of a really well-cleaned house is incredibly dear. Bravo for you & hurrah for your lucky recipient!

  5. Thanks to everyone for entering. The winner of this giveaway is S. Emerson.

Stay tuned for a few more giveaways and a lot more tips and tricks!
