#280 – Sweet Enough

It's interesting to pull out my old cookbooks and note how, in many cases, the recipes have changed over the years. I've noticed that many of the older recipes call for considerably more sugar!

If I decide to bake cookies from The Friends of Sunset Country or my well-thumbed Kinette Cookbook, circa 1980, I'll often decrease the sugar by a 1/4 or a 1/3 of a cup. Sometimes, a recipe is just too sweet.

I don't mind tweaking a recipe; more often than not, it works. Plus, it's a bit of a culinary adventure to see what's cooking!

Do you ever adjust your recipes?
