Just before Christmas I had the misfortune of being in a car accident. Although it was a low-speed impact, the force of the airbags deploying was enough to break my arm in three places. After getting out of the car, I immediately started practicing one of the HeartMath techniques. I was amazed how manageable the pain was, despite my "re-arranged" hand.
I don't recommend this method of putting these techniques to the test, but it was interesting to see how they can help in an emergency situation.
I was able to put the situation into perspective - it was my left hand and not my right one or, even worse, both that were broken! I was also thankful that no one was seriously injured.
