What Does Canada Post Have to Do with Intuition?

Yesterday, wherever I went, I noticed Canada Post vehicles. I liken it to the same sort of awareness you get when you purchase a new vehicle - suddenly you see the same one everywhere you go.

Well, you can rest assured that I have not, and do not intend to buy a decommissioned Canada Post vehicle!

Anyway, I wasn't really surprised when I arrived home to discover a delivery notice on my door from, you guessed it, Canada Post!

On the surface, you may be thinking that this is no big deal and you'd be right. However, when you plumb the depths of events such as this, you'll see that this is just one of the ways in which intuition operates.

Researchers at the Medical Research Council Cognition and Brain Sciences Unit in Cambridge, U.K. performed a study which revealed that:

"[The] link between gut feelings and intuitive decision making to be stronger in people who were more aware of their own heartbeat."

I'd like to suggest that you go one further - become aware of your heart rate variability (HRV). HRV is the rhythm that is produced when your heart speeds up and slows down. Stress impacts the quality of this rhythm.

When you regularly practice undressing your stress , you impact the quality of this rhythm - from jagged to smooth. With enough practice, you begin to know when your system is discordant. Then, it's a simple matter of applying a technique to bring yourself back into sync. When you are in sync, you are operating like a well-tuned machine - efficiently, effectively and intuitively!

"Intuition will tell the thinking mind where to look next." - Jonas Salk

If you're wondering where to look next, I'm happy to help. Contact me for a no-obligation chat and, if you're in the Lower Mainland, ask me about how you can see your HRV and, most importantly, why this matters.
